Veronika Jeric-Binder   Director
The Gallery Andreas Binder started in 1991 as a programm gallery for contemporary art in Munich, Germany, and two years ago celebrated its 20th anniversary. Beside the Gallery in Munich we ran the Project Space Berlin in Berlin–Mitte from 1995 until 1998 where we invited artists like Fred Sandback, Lawrence Weiner and Matt Mullican a.o. to realize in situ projects. At the beginning of the year 2007 Gallery Andreas Binder enlarged and renovated the gallery space. The area of the exhibition space is now about 200 qm.
Till now we have prepared over 100 solo exhibitions, 7 curated shows and 12 thematical shows. As to international art fairs we have been participating so far 16 times at the Art Cologne, as well as participations at Art Basel where for example in 1994 we introduced the work of Andy Hope for the first time, as well as Art Amsterdam, and Art Paris. Since 2005 Gallery Andreas Binder has also intensively participated at different art fairs in the USA like the Art Expo, Chicago, Pulse NYC and Miami, and the Kiaf, Korea.
At the moment we are representing 22 artists in our gallery program, including contemporary artists from Germany as well as abroad. We were able to mediate many of our artists, such as Paul Winstanley (British painter) Izima Kaoru (Japanese photographer), Philipp Lachenmann (German, multi-media artist) to larger museums and for several institutional group exhibitions. The main media used by our represented artists are photography, film, installation, painting and sculpture.
